Role Description
We are looking for a skilled Project Manager to join our Structure Division. This position will oversee the administrative and technical aspects of projects, including planning, directing, and coordinating engineering and scheduling tasks. Ideal candidates will have 4-7 years of experience managing structural projects such as bridges, retaining walls, pump stations, foundations, and reinforced concrete construction. While experience in estimating is a plus, it is not required..
Key Responsibilities:
Heavy Civil Project Manager / Engineer Experience is MUST - Structure division
- Collaborate with the Division Manager and Estimator to plan, organize, and manage the field team.
- Define project objectives in partnership with the Division Manager.
- Implement corporate policies and procedures, including EEO and Affirmative Action responsibilities.
- Represent the company by maintaining active communication with primary owner representatives and attending weekly owner meetings.
- Oversee construction activities through administrative supervision of on-site superintendents to ensure projects are on schedule, within budget, and meet all minority participation requirements.
- Manage project documentation and contracts with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Oversee the financial aspects of contracts, including job cost reports, billing, budget adjustments, change orders, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Develop and revise project work plans to meet evolving needs.
- Assign responsibilities and allocate resources effectively.
- Manage daily project operations and scope.
- Review team deliverables before submission to clients.
- Apply Griffith Company methodologies and enforce project standards.
- Prepare for project reviews and quality assurance.
- Implement risk reduction measures and ensure safety and quality control.
- Maintain budget forecasts and manage costs.
- Manage subcontractors and project teams.
- Resolve issues involving labor, materials, and contract administration.
- Coordinate document control and subcontractor efforts.
- Establish and verify the accuracy of the baseline project schedule.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Experience:
- 4-7 years of proven experience in managing structural projects.
- Experience in people management, strategic planning, and risk management.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong work ethic and excellent time management.
- Knowledge of public contract codes.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in identifying project changes and production analysis.
- Project forecasting and an understanding of estimating practices are beneficial.
- Competence in time impact analysis, critical path analysis, and tracking delays.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
